Just for a change in topic, do you guys to know good Life insurance company who do not show prejudice between greencard holder and H-1B Holder.
I just got life insurance through select quote, west coast which coast only 22$ for � million insurance rejected me stating that there is a difference rate of green card holder and Alien.
I got through Prudential which is costing me 50$.
Any experience with you folks
That makes sense. A typical H1B has more things to worry about (maintaining status, keeping job, GC, dealing with rogue employers, attorneys, physicians...) and lower life expectancy :D

is this the number same even to my 140? I guess this number is assigned at the 140 stage.
so if i give a call to USCIS and ask the status by giving the A# will they tell me the 140 status.
With the A# they can pull up your record (which should in theory include all your applications)...

Hi,
It appears TSC (Texas Service Center) started using new system CHAMPS, which is not connected to the online case status system.
Any one saw either SOFT / HARD LUDs on their cases pending in TSC in last two / three months?

I'm EB3-ROW and at the last stage of I-485 processing. Just waiting for the bulletin to tell me I'm current. Two weeks ago, I found out my lawyer has been blacklisted. Just like Fragomen. Apparently my lawyer performed "too many miracles."
Now I wish to change lawyers to avoid risk of RFEs, denial, etc. Should I do it? What is involved in the switch of lawyers? Just a simple G28? Any risks involved?
Would appreciate any opinions on this matter. Thank you.

I am confused by why the priority dates for EB2 is worse than EB3. Could someone explain?
It's because of retrogression. Example....
Case 1:
John applied in EB3 in 2002, had his labor/140 cleared.
John changed companies in 2005, now was eligible for EB2. Used older priority date.
Now John has 2002 PD in EB2.
Case 2:
BEC labors coming through.
Case 3:
Non-RIR cases getting approved (note that non-RIR labor takes a long time, ~4-5 yrs)
Whether to choose EB-2 or EB-3 is hard.
Fresh blood coming on H1 will typically be EB3. But by the time their visa numbers
become available, they might move to EB2. Or maybe they won't if EB2 worsens. Right
now I think it's a fair game between the 2 categories (IMHO).
If 140 premium starts again, then it might get crazy. Apply for new PERM (choose the least retrogressed category), apply for 140.....all in 5-6 months. Now port your PD from
whatever earlier 140 you had.
I don't think there is a rule that once you have a Labor/140 cleared from EB2, you can't
apply for a fresh labor for EB3 :-)

pappu, is there a separate effort on part of IV towards a legal-immigration based bill, where issues such as visa number capture will be taken up? It has been officially reported within the Ombudsman report that 182,694 have gone unused since 2000.

Hi guys My I140 filed in TEXAS case status online says request for additional information was mailed, I haven't received mail yet, I want to go ahead and collect all the documents required so i can reply immediately as soon as we receive RFE mail,
can you guys tell usually what kind of information is requested in EB3 cases.
I got an RFE about my company's latest Tax statement for the current year. When my attorney sent one, I got I140 approved immediately.
What I heard from my friends nowadays, usually it's company's ability to pay. If the company does not show sufficient income even to pay the employees, then there could be an issue. But just wait for the notice. I think your attorney gets the notice
