This document is mandatory - why don't you either ask your lawyer for a copy or call up USCIS and explain the case. Another option would be to send your Online status (from USCIS website), either way - I recommend you get your I485 receipt and then scan all your documents and email it to yourself for future use.
Aah_GC: Lawyer might not have received it from USCIS otherwise irrational would not be writing it here :) Many who filed during July 07 fiasco have not received the 485 receipt notices (lost in mail) from USCIS.

Being current means very little. I've been there 3 times over the last few years. 4 years after filing my 485, and 2 RFEs later(each generated during a PD current period BTW) and 3 "currents", I am still waiting. I am on my 5th EAD.
So while optimism is good, with the USCIS don't get too hopeful. Incompetence abounds.

I see people not supporting the CIR which was suppose to be a pro Immigration bill, no matter which part of the society it was supporting. My question is Are you guys out here a Pro or an anti immigration forum?

It is good to carry all possible documents. However for extensions they just check the I-797 along with the DS-156 and 157. They did not ask any other document. Hope this helped. Regards - MP70.

My friend's I-140 was field in Oct. It was filed at VT, but finally got transferred to TX. I-140 got approved in just 10 business days.

Under the updated version, the pool of eligible immigrants would now also include holders of H-1B visas and entrepreneurs living outside the US with a market presence in the country.
The new legislation provides visas to the following groups under certain conditions:
First: Entrepreneurs living outside the US - if a US investor agrees to financially sponsor their entrepreneurial venture with a minimum investment of $100,000.

Its not too late yet....You will get H1 extension beyond 6 yrs if you meet one of the below conditions:
-- labor certification is pending for 365 days ---(This is not applicable to you)
-- I-140 is approved -- (You have a chance with this option)
Apply asap for labor certification. With the PERM process it usually takes 2-3 months to get it certified. Then you can apply for I-140 in Premium Processing and get it certified within 15 days.
Make sure you hire a good attorney and push to get the 2 stages cleared fast. Then you can file for H1 extension and get a 3 yr extension with approved I-140.

"USCIS have suspended the AC21 act" is it so? And when USCIS suspended AC21?
If u look at the distribution for the fiscal year 2005, EB-2 did not use much of the surplus AC21 numbers. So why is EB2 retrogressed for India and China now. As somebody indicated in other threads, the USCIS may have suspended the AC21 act.
